Will Physiotherapy be able to treat my problem?

Do I need the Doctor’s Referral?

In most cases, a doctor’s referral isn’t necessary for massage, chiropractic, and physiotherapy treatments in BC. However, it’s advisable to check if your benefits plan mandates a doctor’s referral, although very few cases typically require one.

What kind of treatments can your clinic directly bill for?

Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy treatments both qualify.

How do you direct bill on my extended health benefits?

With your permission, New Light Physiotherapy submits your claim using an online portal for the services you receive. You provide your insurance policy number and member ID. Your Portal gives us an idea of the amount your plan covers. You might have to pay the balance, depending on your coverage. (Note: Most extended benefit coverage offers direct billing, but not all.)

How much do I need to pay?

  • You pay the balance of your visit fee after your insurance plan pays what it covers. If your insurance covers 100% of your costs, then you don’t pay anything. If your insurance covers 80% of the visit, then you pay the other 20%.

What treatments can be direct billed?

  • All physiotherapy and massage services.

Is a doctor’s referral needed for physiotherapy or massage therapy?

  • No, you have direct access to physiotherapy and massage services without a referral from a doctor

What if I have coverage under more than one insurance plan? Do you coordinate benefits?

The Portal allows only one direct billed insurance plan. So, you pay the balance to the clinic, we give you itemized receipts, and you submit those for reimbursement under your other insurance policy.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes. You get a receipt automatically for any portion you pay to the clinic. For direct billing, you can get a copy of the statement submitted to the Portal.

What happens if my insurance company doesn’t process my bill?

Simply pay us and get reimbursed from your insurance company. We accept Debit or cash. You will get a receipt to submit to your insurance company.

How do you bill ICBC physiotherapy services?

Work-related injuries are covered under WCB for physiotherapy in our clinic. We direct bill to the Work Safe BC. Before booking your appointment with us, report your injury to your employer, Doctor and submit the appropriate paperwork to the WCB. I have Injured myself at work, does WorkSafeBC cover my Physiotherapy Sessions?

If you are seeking physiotherapy treatments within 60 days of your injury and have an approved claim, you are covered for 6 weeks after the Initial Assessment. Can my future Appointments be prepaid through Direct Billing?

No, Only Appointments that’s have been completed can be direct billed at the time.

Can I check my specific coverage and how many sessions are covered?

If you wish to inquire about your insurance coverage, remaining balance for covered sessions, deductibles, or require other information, we recommend reaching out to your insurance provider directly.

What is the cancellation policy of the Clinic?

We require 24 hours Notice for the cancellation of your appointment.
